Why do you need this?  You can just search the communities for that info.

    Do you have a problem?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

For the avoidance of doubt, you are referring to the inability to locate and not the offline status.

my phone was being located.  all parameters that normally worked are still on.  the phone was in a normal spot or reception.  when find my iphone ap was used on family phone to search for it.  It just didn't show up.  Not offline or can't find.  However, it did later say offline.

if everything is on,  iphone, push off manual, location services as always.  I was in a usual spot and still no location appeared neither on her phone or the computer?  what possible reasons could explain this?

If it's just the location, accuracy or even the ability to locate altogether can vary, even in the same location, in just the same way as your signal strength can vary and occasionally not wok at all.

Just to be sure...  you do have Find My iPhone service turned on?  In Settings>icloud.  And you're not in Airplane mode?

why do I need this?  simple i looked for the answer and nothing was found that solved the question... lot's of close but not close enough.  In the time you spent saying nothing, if you knew the answer, you could have given it.  My problem is I'm a physician who when isn't with patients is caring for 2 year old twins or picking up kids from school so my community "search time" is limited.  my only other problem is wasting time which is why i came... as advised to the community where people like to share and solve problems instead of questioning value of the question poser.  got an answer up there in canada?
