Does home sharing include sharing of music not purchased through iTunes?

My old CDs were all loaded onto my computer, shared with my iPad, then backed up from the computer onto a separate hard drive and deleted from the computer to create space.

Now i have all those CDs available to play on my iPad, but seem unable to share them with my computer again so i can then play them wirelessly through some good loudspeakers (Swedish-made LV2s)

Or do i need to purchase i Tunes match to achieve the desire result?
