What should I do with my iPod? Send it or keep it?

Hi, Ive had some recent problems with my iPod with colour display. It was not responding before, it showed the sad ipod icon and didn't work at all for a long period of time.
So i decided to goto the iPod support site to order a replacement/repair since my iPod is still in Warranty.
The empty iPod UPS shipping box arrived today. When I was putting the iPod in the box, I by accident dropped the device on the floor. Surprisingly the iPod started working, no more sad icons or freezes. What should I do now, send the iPod or keep it. The Agreement contract for iPod repairs says that if you send in a working iPod to be repaired you'll have to pay $100 for wasted efforts.
If I dont send the iPod would I need to pay for the shipping package I just recieved?

However, the only suggestion I would like to make is doing a format, as your iPod may face a skipping song problem in the future, as the dropping may cause some bad sectors

Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”

If you don't send it back, eventually after a period of time the repair request will be deleted from Apple's records. You will not be charged.

However, if the problem returns, you'll need to generate another service request. If you send it back whilst it's working, then that's when Apple may (note the word may) charge a fee if they find nothing wrong with the iPod.

Your call.

No, that's not quite what it says.

"Apple may charge you a diagnostic fee including shipping charges, of no more than one hundred ($100) dollars US, (“Diagnostic Fee”), plus applicable tax, if Apple inspects your product and determines based on the inspection that the product does not require service."

If you have made the decision of not to sending back your iPod, then please read the following

Bear in mind it will erase all data on your iPod
