Jan 9, 2013 3:52 PM in response to LeMansLamboby Niel,In general, this requires opening the computer and putting its hard drive in an enclosure. It's unlikely that someone at the Apple Store will be familiar enough with the laptop's design to be comfortable doing that.

Jan 9, 2013 7:39 PM in response to LeMansLamboby GeekBoy.from.Illinois,★HelpfulIf you take the dead PC laptop into a GeekSquad location, they will probably be more than willing to help you remove the old HD and put it into an external enclosure (that they will also gladly sell you). They will probably charge you a little $$ to do it, but once they have done that, you can then just plug the external HD enclosure into your Mac and copy all the files you want from it.
