Home sharing trouble

Trying to import music from macbook pro to my mac. Computers not recognized in home sharing running iTunes 11 on mac nor on macbook pro. Home sharing is enabled in both iTunes and within Preferences. both are enabled with same Apple ID. Have turned home sharing off and on both on the mac and macbook and still not recognizing in iTunes.
