ical icon shows correct date for administrator, but not for other users

My daughter's ical icon doesn't show the correct date, however it does under my administrator screen. It does show the correct date when ical is open, but not when it has been closed. I read previous discussions on this and tried their solutions, but they are not working (ie, tried dragging it off and replacing it with new icon from applications).
