CS2 is too old to run on Macs with Intel Processors lke your MacBook Pro. It was released before Mac shifted from PowerPC to Intel processors. The Adobe site says it is for Macs with G4 and G5 processors only; those predate the entire MacBook Pro product line.
Supposedly, it might run under "Rosetta" emulation on Intel Macs running Mac OS10.6.8, but your new model came with a higher Mac OS version that has abandoned Rosetta support.
when I downloaded and ran the install disc i got the error saying PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Mine is a brand new model not a 2009. Maybe that's the difference?
No, the difference is that I have installed Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels, so that I can run Lion and PowerPC applications concurrently. You gave up after the first responsive post.
I dont have rosetta and dont want to trick my laptop into thinking it's old so when i got a response from a level 7 member on the matter, i tend to think he's right....vs the guy with the lap top that's 5 years old.
As you wish, spend the money as is best for you but again: THANKS FOR THE TIP!

Check in with me in July, 2014 and we'll see about that!
