I remeeded a $25 itunes girft card on my iphone. It shows the $25 credit in my apple id account but when I try to purchase a song it tries to charge the credit card I have on file. It doesn't give an opition for the gift card credit

Or it simply asks you to verify cc information? This is how itunes verifies your account.
