Home network printer

I know this question has been asked plenty of times but can't seem to find the answer. I have a home wireless network set up and I want to be able to print wirelessly to a printer in my house. the printer is connected to the desktop which is connected to the modem in my home. I have printer before but the printer was connected with a usb to my MacBook Pro. I have the drivers installed and my printer is a HP Deskjet F4135. thanks in advance.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

First you should really install that pronter on your network if it has networking features like an Ethernet port o[r can use WiFi.

If it has to be connecteed to a computer by USB thenn you first have to SHARE that pronter on the computer it is connected to.

Then you have to installl it on the Mac computer as a network printer and Point it to the computer it is connected to. Also to be able to print the computer it is connected to has to be ON.

The printer doesn't have an ethernet port or wifi. The printer is being shared on the network, I had it working before but it was on a Windows 7 laptop.

Well the printer may be to old for it to be supported on the Mac.

If you go to Print & Scan and Add a printer is that printer make and model number even listed?

Oh and that thing that people say, "Mac's are easier to use" is a lie. They aren't. They're just different and sometimes harder to use then Windows.

Can you see the computer the printer is connected to from Finder on the Mac in the Shared section. ou first have to be able to see that computer before you can use it as a Print sharing device. If the Mac can't find that computer on the network it will never see the printer connected to it.

It is connected to a Windows? If so then turn on SMB (Windows) sharing on the mac and set the wo[tkgroup name on the Mac in the WINS section, Sys Prefs/Network, the WiFi card/Advanced, WINS Tab, to what it is on the Windows desktop.

Then open a Finder Window and go to the GO entry in the menu bar then Go to Server and type in the IP address of the Windows desktop.
