The Voice Memo app button doesn't appear on my new iPhone 5. I can find it by typing it in to the search. How do I get the microphone button to show on my screen? I did a refresh (quit & restart).

One way that would probably work is Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout
If that fails, when you find it in the search, where is it? Is it in some folder with other apps?

Did you look in the Utilities Folder on the Home Screen. It sits in there by default.

OK. I have it now.
First I checked for a Utilities Folder. It didn't exist.
When I searched for it I could click the link in search results and pull up the app. Couldn't move it; only record.
Next I reset the home screen layout. It removed all of my folders and set my apps (except home screen) in alphabetical order. Now I have nine pages of unorganized apps (ouch).
However, there on page two was a Utilities Floder, in it the Voice Memos app.
I can now move it to the home page and re-organize my apps and folders.
It's going to be a useful app. Thank you for the advice.
Glad you got it where you wanted.
By the way, you can organize your apps in two different ways:
1. Drag them around on your iPhone.
2. While your iPhone is connected to iTunes, you can go to the "Apps" tab in iTunes in the iPhone's area and move them around there.
