iPod Touch 5 iTunes not recognizing in Win 8

Hello! I upgraded to Windows 8 over a week ago and now I cannot connect my device to iTunes.

My computer dings and sees my iPod Touch 5 however iTunes doesn't show a device listed.

Have restarted iTunes multiple times, have disconnected/reconnected iPod multiple times, have restarted computer multiple times. I have tried all USB ports. I have rebooted my iPod Touch 5. Nothing seems to work. iTunes doesn't see a device. Never had this problem with Win 7.

Does anyone have a solution or idea that could help me? Thanks!

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. There is where Devices is lsted when a device is connected. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

Also make sure yo have iTunes version 10.7 or later on the computer.

I am running the most current iTunes. The first thing I did after downloading this iTunes was have it show the sidebar. That isn't the problem. My problem is that it isn't recognizing my iDevice after I plug it in.
