samsung printers

i'm having trouble setting up my samsung (ML 2160 series) printer b/c search for software is unavailable through apple. i've already downloaded the CD that came with the product (successfully) but when i go to add the printer to my list in system preferences, i'm unable to do so. help!! by the way, i'm running mountain lion on my macbook pro. thanks to anyone who can help.
