Well all of a sudden when I sat with macbook pro on his lap as the lights went out in the keyboard and when I press f5 or f6 then nothing happens! what do I do??? so when I had it on the quilt did not work. it can even turn off? and adjust the light?

The keyboard backlight appears to behave incorrectly (on Mac computers that have this feature).

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
