Just need a quick answer really, been offered a G4 with great specs - 17" screen upgraded 160gb hard drive and 750m RAM (which would need to be upgraded a bit more)
BUT! Its a USB 1.0 rather than a USB 2.0, I want to use the G4 as a juke box with my iPod Classic as well as have some fun with it, is USB 1.0 going to be a real pain or it not too big a deal?

Also, can't see how you would sync a PPC Mac with an iPod.
Yeah the iPod will run with the iMac but the slowness might be a deal breaker...
Aren't USB something like 40 times faster at transfer?
USB 1.1 will work to sync your iPod with your G4 but it will indeed be very very slow.
you may wish to consider "downgrading" your ipod to a 60gb ipod photo which will sync by firewire. just another option.
Yeah I think that would make sense,
..I think I' shall stick with the USB2.0 G4, I think the idea of the slightly bigger screen gave me a rush of blood to the head but in the longer term I'd like it to be fun to use as well as good to look at so I'd be better off with the USB 2.0 to be usable
