Stop iWork from showing previous version (with ~)

Everytime I save an iWork file on mac it appeares another one with ~. How to stop this from happening?

Which MAcOS do you have? Pages version?

Pages 4.3 on ML. Also "Back up..." unchecked on preferences. I have no idea what else should I do.
