Macbook Pro battery help. :(

Mid-2012, 12 weeks old with 34 cycles but only has 92% battery capacity. It's too fast. 5280 out of 5770 mAh.

Do I need to recalibrate it? I only use it for downloading, surfing and documents, no games at all.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Wow, I thought the model had bigger battery for what it costs! My MBP's battery has a design capacity of 6900 mAh!

But I agree, losing 8% capacity so soon doesn't seem right. Mine has 68 cycles and 13 months yet retains 99% capacity (6871/6900). Unfortunately, with a sealed Retina you're at the mercy of Apple. A trip to the Store and a discussion with the "Genius" will be inevitable. Be prepared to hear lots of BS, get some leg pulling or even face outright denial.

I forgot. No recalibration necessary or even possible. These all come "precalibrated" from factory. Draining and recharging, in the old fashioned recalibration procedure, helps none and may even contribute to further battery degradation.

This is the 13 inch MBP (no Retina display) with 5770. 😟 Wow, yours is even better than mine! I'm worried because I use it a lot for school work. Crossing my fingers that this might just be a glitch. I know a trip to the Store might be futile so I'll try to fix it myself first. Any other tips to save/improve battery life?
