What can I do to download previous purchases.
.
Maybe you used another Apple ID within the last 90 days in order to download a past purchase. When you switch ID's and use the other ID to download a post purchase, you lock yourself out of the other ID for 90 days.
Is that possible in this case? If so, read this.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
You need to use the Apple ID that was used to originally purchase those apps. Are you sure that your iPad is signed in to the correct Apple ID?
When I got my iPad I created a new Apple ID, but then switched to my old ID. I'm able to purchase new music with my old ID and doesn't tell me to wait 90 days. After I've waited 90 days will I be able to use my old Apple ID?
@Ralph. Yes I'm signed in with the Apple ID that I want to use. I reset my iPad and started it with the ID that I want to use
Did you make purchases with the old ID, switch to the new ID and make purchases with it and then go back to the old ID and download a past purchase?
What was the exact sequence of events that you made purchases, created the ID ....
On the iPad I started with the new ID then switched to the old one, I did not use my old ID before the new one
If you have been using the old ID and you are signed into that ID now, you should still be able to use it. You said that it works for music - right?
Are you trying to use the new ID now or the old one? If you used the new ID to purchase something and then went back to the old ID to download a past purchase and the switched back to the new one again, that would cause a problem.
I purchased music/videos with old I'd on a different device. Got iPad created new account, downloaded new appts, then added old ID to iPad to download previous purchases
And which ID are you trying to use now?
At this point I've switched from the new to the old ID several times. Will I be able to log my old acct in 90 days since I've had that ID account for many years?
Yes you will be able to use the ID in 90 days. The clock starts on the day that you downloaded that past purchase that started this whole thing.
I'm sorry to put you thorugh all of this. I was just trying to make sure that I had the sequence of events correct. If you switched back and forth, that is why you are being locked out of the other ID.
Did you not get a message to that effect when you did this?
I only want to stick to the old ID
Yes, after I switched from one ID to another. After a while I did not know which one i was logged in with.
Thank you very much
too late for sage advice, but creating multiple apple IDs is always a bad idea. If you have only had the new one for a short time, and dont have a lot of purchases tied up using it, consider simply ignoring it, and using your original ID.
