i currently have an Imac late 2013 model and have this image retention problem. It has occurred maybe 1 1/2 month since I got my mac.

What should I do? go to apple? or is there a fix for this?

I have read that it is not normal, but are the replacements any better? will the problem get any worse through time?

hope hear you feedback guys. thank you!

    Hey nice Bokeh

I have a late 2012 and it had a hint of IR during the first month, 1 time.  Since then, I have seen it 1 or 2 times.  My iMac runs 24/7 365 and I have only seen it a few random times since then.  I got mine in Jan 2013 I think.  I got Apple care and if it happens again, I have a case with Apple so I can get it replaced.

I think you should determine if it's a serious consistant problem or was just a random anomoly  ... if it happened 1 time ... forget it.  If it happens everytime you use it... then go for a repair.

I've had the same problem (image persistence) on my iMac 27'' (late 2013).

I had to have my panel changed through Apple Care a few days ago. The thing took 30 minutes.

Apparently they solved the problem on later models.

If your iMac is still guaranteed I would strongly suggest that you have it serviced (whether you have Apple Care or not). It is not a software problem that you can solve using the white screensaver!

    It is a hardware problem.

    Hope this helps!
