Q: My iPad's and iphone's Bluetooths don't find each other

Bluetooth on iOS devices is designed to connect to speakers, keyboard and headphone. But not to other devices except for a few specialty things like beaming photos.

What are you trying to accomplish by connecting your phone and iPad?

You can also use your Bluetooth on your iPhone to create a hotspot for your iPad.

This allows your IPAD to have internet available on it through Bluetooth.

You can use 3rd party apps to send photos via Bluetooth to iOS devices but no other type of file can be sent.

File transfer on Apple Bluetooth isn't supported by the IOS or OSX software.
