Windows 8 workaround?

Are there workarounds to install Win 8 on a Boot Camp partition?

I foolishly bought Win 8, deleted my Win 7 Boot Camp install in order to set up a larger partition for Win 8--only to discover after the fact that there is no official Boot Camp support.

Is it possible to reinstall my Win 7 on a Boot Camp partition,

then Boot into the Win 7 install

and from there upgrade to Win 8?
