I have a Yamaha YPG535 Portable Grand Piano) and I'm able to connect it to my Macbook with a USB cord but I can't figure out how to record my 5 User songs (recorded on the keyboard) into Garageband. I'm able to record what I play directly into Garageband but I can't get the tracks that were previously recorded on the keyboard into Garageband for some reason. Can anyone tell me how to?? 😉
What happens if you play them on the keyboard? Do the midi signals get through to the computer?
Yes the midi signals get through to the computer when I play the keyboard. It's when I play any of the user songs (in order to record them in Garageband) that no signal gets through. I need a way to get the midi tracks I've recorded onto my computer from my keyboard. Any suggestions??
Since your midi connection is fine, it looks like the piano isn't sending midi signals out when it plays the stored songs. I just looked at the manual - there is a midi setting in the piano called "Song Out" which has to be set to "On".
