Why doesn't my iMac recognize Turbo Tax 2013 program?

I have installed turbo tax on this same iMac the last three years without incident, but when I tried to install 2013, the iMac does not even allow me to install it.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

As I can see, TurboTax 2013 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 with a 64-bit processor > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3696 If you have a 64-bit processor and your info is right, you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

In your case, you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first, because you have to purchase Mountain Lion in the App Store, available in Mac OS X 10.6.8 and newer.

The Mac OS X disc contains Mac OS X 10.6.3, so you will have to open  > Software Update to install 10.6.8. Also, make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner before upgrading.

See if your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
