A solution for MBP freeze

Early 2011, 8,2 MBP, 2.2 i7

Mountain Lion 10.8.2

I was having this freezing issue for almost for a year.

What I have tried so far:

Running on Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion.

Doing 'fresh install' over internet for Lion and Mountain Lion.

Formatting hard drive with writing on it.

Running OS from external hard drive.

SMC P-RAM things never worked out either.

I was almost sure that it was hardware related but I was thinking it may be a firmware issue.

So I was able to downgrade it to MBP81.0047.B0E with following .pkg

It works for 8,X series.

You may give it a try. You are able to upgrade later if that doesn't work. It's working fine for a week now so I didn't upgrade it.
