I have been exploring other website builders and they all seem to need knowledge of how to use HTML code.

IWeb didn't need that and was sooooooo easy to use.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), IWeb 3.0.3

This app is a lot cheaper than most with more and better features than the other drag and drop style ones...

Even the most backward of businesses are realising the need for mobile designs now that the demise of traditional designs inevitable due to the decline in sales of personal computers. If you don't have a mobile version of your site you can forget about fame and fortune via the internet. One of my business sites is now bringing in over 60% via the mobile version. This is in comparison to 25% about four months ago. There must have been a lot of iPad Minis and Nexus 7s sold at Xmas!

This app may help those who are frightened by code to create mobile designs...

I am so thrilled. I have spent the last week trying out other webpage builders and they are a disaster. Typical PC users making things so impractical and complicated that you have to pay a fortune to get someone to build a website for you!!! If Apple can make a simple to use webpage builder why can't all the PC wonks make one???

I will continue with IWeb.

Thanks so much OT

Thanks to Jeff Nitchke too!

You've both given me hope!

Hello Jeff et al:

I have a new problem I've spent a lot of time trying to make my my website look better. Today after making some changes one of my pages" Varieties" is totally messed up when published. The fonts aren't right, the background colors aren't supposed to be green. It's a total mess. What could be happening?

Also on the other pages the banners within the top photo aren't the width I set them at, they're far too narrow.

Thanks

Hello Roddy

I did what you suggested and the Varieties page was fine on the Desktop published file.(except for the yext banner shrinkage--so that must have been something I've done. Any suggestions on that? Theyre text boxes sitting on top of the photo; should I make them shapes instead?

But, when I went to look for the IWeb preferences there were'nt any! Could it be ILife90 instead, as that's how I got my IWeb? One problem may be is that I am running an old IMac--pre-Intel with OS10.5.8 so can't get version 3.0.4 of IWeb?

Thanks, MIchael

p.s. where in Scotland are you from? I was born in the Lake District in the same town as WIlliam Wordsworth!

Hello Roddy

I do use the metric inspector to set my image sizes.

But anyhow, I tried using shapes on my banner instead of text boxes and they work just fine thanks.

You were right about not being in the right library! But there are no IWeb Preferences in the Home/libraryPreferences.

Scotland in winter must be quite a shock to your system after 18 years in CA!
