Can a Macbook Pro from late 2008 upgrade to the most recent OS software? Or will I have to get a new computer in order to have that? Thanks!

I currently have a Macbook Pro from late 2008 and I'd like to update it to the most current software in order to run newer programs such as Adobe Creative Suite 6. I am not sure if this is even possible but if anyone has any advice or help I would really appreciate it! Thanks! 🙂
