ipad bluetooth problems

I bought a bluetooth keypad last night. it worked last night on my ipad which I have had for 2 weeks. this morning when I went to use it it will not recognize the keyboard all the time when it does the keyboard does not register, like you type and nothing will show up on the notes when I use the notes app. I have no idea. I have taken it to two apple stores and they told me to return the ipad. really????? what is up. two weeks old and it worked last night. what could be wrong?
