S.M.A.R.T status failing... Macbook pro '13

SoonMy 6 months old macbook pro's 500 gb hard drive is failing. And the closest apple store from my house is 2 and a half hours drive, my parents dont want to drive me because its too far and the roads are slippery (its winter). How much do you think it will cost to buy new hard drive? I live in canada btw. Or since my macbook is new and has a 1 year warranty do you think its possible for apple to mail me a new hard drive instead???
