Can I write an email and schedule it to be sent later?

I want to write an email today, schedule it to be sent two weeks from now, and have Mail automatically send it on the scheduled date, the anniversary of an event. Can this be done? Thanks for any ideas. Jim

Scheduling should be a standard, FREE feature for Apple Mail in this day-in-age of Globalization where many of us are dealing with different timezones. This is the only feature I've ever missed in Apple Mail, but it's a BIG ONE!!! HUGE!!!

BTW, MailButler (formerly SendLater) currently only supports 30 scheduled mails per month in it's free version. To avoid the 30 mail cap you'll need to pay a never ending monthly fee! 😟😟😟

To be fair, I just installed MailButler and for the moment it is truly a great solution since it's integrated into the Apple Mail program itself (unlike other mail clients like Airmail 3 that don't offer all the integrated features of Apple Mail)

Also, it seems like a pretty fair pricing structure since anyone needing to schedule more than 30 mails per month is probably a business and can afford to support MailButler's clever developers. 😉

Though this doesn't change the fact that Apple should integrate this simple feature itself!!! Mail should just have it!

Here's a kludge that should work. I've used a modified version of this procedure in earlier versions of the OS. The directions spend most of the time talking about running Applescripts but the same process works for Automator which they address in the article http://www.tuaw.com/2013/03/18/triggering-applescripts-from-calendar-alerts-in-m ountain-lion/

You will need to use the following Automator actions to get the mail sent.

New Mail Message expand the actions and save with the appropriate information.

Send Outgoing Messages

Save an uncompiled version of this and it can be used as the basis for future messages should the text/recipients need to change

ChungaSoft just realeased a plugin for Mail which does exactly this...provides a second "send" button right next to the main one which opens up a dialog box allowing you to specify the date and time for the email you have open to send. Then the message sites in your outbox and sends when you told it to. Much easier and slicker way to do this than using Automator. http://www.chungwasoft.com/sendlater/
