Q: Can I write an email and schedule it to be sent later?

Oh how I wish I could have back Eudora! *Mail* still makes me crazy ....

I just started using ChungWaSoft's SendLater PlugIn and it seems to work great.  Only used it 1 day for about 10 emails, but no problems.  Its $10US.  Keep in mind that anytime you schedule an email for later delivery, your Mac needs to stay awake and Mail needs to be running.  The emails are kept in your Outbox until the time you scheduled them to be send.

Create a new Automator script (application type), create new email with your to, subject and message filled out. Add 'send outgoing messages' action to it, save to the desktop.

Open up iCal and create a new reminder of when you want it sent, add the script to it.

I'm confused, I use PCs and MACs and neither comes with MS Outlook out of the box, but it is available for both. At least with the MAC it comes with a mail client built into the OS, basic though it is...

As Rick Lupert stated, http://www.chungwasoft.com/sendlater/ offers a MacMail plugin for $13.95 (USD) that works beautifully.  It adds a "Send Later" button to the Mail App and when you click it you can select a specific date/time or a specific amount of time from the time of message creation.  I use it and love it.  A great plugin.

That having been said and speaking of name changes, Chungwasoft has changed their name to "Fringiest" (So don't get confused when it doesn't say "Chungwasoft" when ya get there)...the plugin has been updated to work with the latest version of El Capitan as well.

Download MailButler... it is free and very useful for many tasks including sending mail at specific times/dates
