Is it possible to use the MDP port of a Macbook 6,1 to connect a Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter to connect a M-Audio interface?
If not, is there another way of connecting this same device?

The Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter requires a computer with a Thunderbolt port. It will not work with a Mini DisplayPort.

Usually the M-Audio FireWire units have only FireWire. And your Mac doesn't have it. So, I fear the answer is "no".
