so....When I put my original CD or download iTunes off the internet again...does that mean that all my songs will pop up onto it? Or will I have to go somewhere to find them?

Ok...let's just say that I just downloaded iTunes again...what do I do next...or do i have to do anything except plug in my iPod? Thank you so much!!

hi Callchel!

(sorry for barging in Katrina.)

Ya, i tried that, but the whole program has dissapeared.

just checking on something. did everything disappear immediately after an itunes 5.0.x install, or a 6.0.x install?

did you see a dialog saying the installation had been interrupted? or did everything just vanish at the "publishing product information" stage of the install?

PS~ sorry about this..I am a new user and a younger one at that so I am still not sure about all of this yet I just got my new iPod 30GB this Christmas. We won it from the mall and I am afaid to do anything to it becuase we don't have the money to buy another one. I mean...we do to buy like a nano but not another video...:(

yeah callchel, b noitr is trying to figure out if some malware got rid of your iTunes. At least I think that is what that questions is for.

Do a search on your hard drive for this file
iTunes library.itl

That is the index that tells iTunes where are the actual songs files are at on your hard drive.

If it already is on your hard drive, re-installing iTunes will use that and you should see all your songs.

If it is NOT on your hard drive, you will have to drag your songs into iTunes again when you get it installed.

thanks Katrina!

At least I think that is what that questions is for.

... actually, i was thinking of this thing:

iTunes for Windows installation quits with 1607 error, while publishing product information, or is interrupted

(especially the completely silent version of it.)

... i haven't seen one reported for a while, but it was the only thing i could think of that could make the itunes program disappear into thin air ... sometimes it even takes out the desktop icon ...

hey, when you siad i wasn't trying to make you install it again, i haven't even tried to install it once!!

Oh, and also when you said, 'sometimes it even takes off the desktop icon', that's what it did!

One day i simply went on to add some songs and it wasn't on my desktop. So i looked in the program list, and it wasn't there either. Now, if you don't already think I'm stupid for asking these quetions, you REALLY think I'm stupid now...how do i search in the hard drive? sorry, it's not even that i'm not very good with computers, it's just I can't find where that is.
Thanks again,
Chelsey
