iPods will not connect to Windows 8

I have the 5th Gen iPod Video 30GB, along with an iPod Touch 3rd Gen 32GB. On my previous, Windows 7 laptop, the 30GB would connect and sync without any problems whatsoever. On the Windows 8 laptop, I was able to connect and sync the 32GB Touch without any problems. Now, out of nowhere, neither iPod will connect to my Windows 8 machine. The 30GB will begin to charge, and if it is connected during the laptops boot stage, it will show the "Do Not Disconnect" screen, until the login screen becomes available, and the touch will not charge or connect at all. I have factory reset the 30GB on my Windows 7 machine to ty and fix the problem, but to no avail. I've soft reset both devices multiple times, but nothing is working. I'm at a loss here.

iPod touch, Other OS, iPod Touch 3rd Gen; iPod Video 5th
