iPod touch 5G Problem?

I just got my iPod touch 5th Generation Red a few days ago and I have a charging problem. I just used all of my iPod's battery until it was at 15%. Then when I charged it, after two minutes it says that is on 60%. Is the Lightning Connector that fast? Also, the iPod touch 5G didn't seem to have a longer battery life than my 4th Generation I had before. What should I do?

The % battery meter is not accurate so I would disregard it when making changes like starting a charge cycle. Not that Apple did not provide a % battery indicator with the iPod

The 5G uses more power than the 4G because of the larger screen and faster processor.

See the following for actions to maximize batter life.

How long does a fully charged battery last and what is the iPod doing during that period?

Also, wait until the iTouch battery meter shows the Plug sign. Which obviously means you know its fully charged. Then see how long it lasts, use it like you would normally use it. If it goes WAY quick as in, after 2 hours of use, then yes go to a genius bar. If after 5 hours or more, it dies, then its just the way you use it. I have a 5th gen. With a lightning connector as well. Mine Charges in about an hour as well. It may be correct, because so far, With daily use, which includes games, notes, surfing the web, dictionary, and of course music, I get about a day and a half of battery life, before I run down to the 15% Area.

What is your daily use for it? Let me know if this helps.

Hmm. Oddly, I have the exact same event happening on my iPod touch 5th generation as well. I drained it this morning and put it in the charger. After a couple of minutes, I went to one of my charging apps and it said it was at 47%. I get 5-8 hours of life depending on what I am doing. But, I still wonder what is happening during charge. My fifth gen takes longer and has less battery life, so this doesn't make sense...

Extremely odd, as I have a 5th gen, and my battery has been able to last me 5 days without charge, after constant use of games, social networking, etc. I do not understand the defects of the 5th. But it makes me wonder.

When I went to buy my new 5th gen from my local apple store. I picked out a green one, opened it from the box. It never turned on. Kept saying there was a software glitch. But then we grabbed another one and it said consult the factory for reason for defect. So apparently there has been some defects that apple has not kept from being sold to the public. I think they are doing that to earn money, while letting their reputation deplete a bit. After that second one, my third one worked, but it worked beautifully. GREAT battery life.

I suppose my defect theory may be one lead to this mysterious battery life issue. It could also be a lead to other defects and issues with the 5th gen.
