Apple TV home sharing help please

My pc and Apple TV both have home sharing on, same account, and up to date. Why is the Apple TV still not seeing my iTunes library on my pc? The pc is connected directly to the router while the Apple TV is obviously wireless. Please help, trying to justify the purchase to my wife. Lol. So far I'm failing ;-)
