I have the same problem and more !!!
I have all items to produce my first book on iBookstore (EIN, credit card, APPLE-ID) and...
I cant manage the iBookstore account...
It is the same message : "Apple ID does not have permission to access iTunes Connect."
What can i do ?

I have sent an email to email@example.com outlining my problem.
I get the same error message when I try to set up a free books account also.
The reply from the bookstore people is that my application is pending review, and that I will receive an invitation email from them as soon as it is approved. Then I will be able to log in to iTunes Connect.
I can only wait and see.
If this works, I will let you know.

Do we have any idea how long this takes? Its already been 24 hours for me.
(I created a free iTunes Connect account some time ago to test it out and yesterday tried to upload my finished book. Only when it was uploaded did I realise I couldn't set a price… I therefore checked out the net and saw that the only way to remove the book was to remove it from all markets which I did.
I then created a second Apple ID in order to set up a paid books account which I did with all the US tax details. However when I try to access iTunes Connect I get
"Apple ID does not have permission to access iTunes Connect."
And when I try iTunes Producer I get
"Unable to find registered user with username "firstname.lastname@example.org")

3 days - you're lucky.
I'm still waiting and it's been 2 months plus (I keep getting same error message:
'Unable to find registered user with username "........my username......"
Does anyone have anyother ideas what might be going on or what can be done about it?

Hmm... Something's wrong there. Mine activated in about 36 hours. Try emailing email@example.com - they might be able to help you.
