Q: is there a way of getting Airplay working on a iMac lat 2009

I'm suppose to get the "airplay icon" in the menu bar...but i don't. Is there a way to access this? Apple said I wuld need to upgrade to Mountain Lion which I've done.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

AirPlay Mirroring requires a Mid 2011 or newer iMac, so your iMac isn't supported. You can use a third-party application to stream your computer onto the Apple TV, as AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
