Can I listen to my ipod nano 6th generation through my car speakers?

Can I just plug it in to the port in the car using some sort of connector or is bluetooth a necessary requirement. I don't see where I have bluetooth with my gen 6.

Generally, it is a YES.

Some cars have really integrated technology on bluetooth. Which that just meant it would automatically catch the calls and music to project it through the speakers. (altenatively that works with iPod Touch and iPhone to the capability of Bluetooth)

Unfortunately, some cars don't. The only way to fix that if you're lucky enough, you'd get an AUX plug built-in of your car, or a USB plug. (I wouldn't reconmmend using USB because it charges your device automatically and that's gonna shorten your device's battery life)

If you are still missing the gadgets above, you'd probably want to contact your car's support office and ask them about that, or go to the tuning shop closest to you and ask those guys (they are technically experts).

Hope this helped, thanks.

Consider this, the wattage used in car battery is the same as the rectangular ones you can easily obtain in Wal-mart. (which that just makes the process charging the device slow)

The second problem is that UNLESS you live in a car, the chances of you getting the device fully charged is IMPOSSIBLE. so unplugging the device in the middle of the charge defeinitely shortens its bettery life.

Thanks.

The wattage used in the car battery is meaningless, charging is controlled by the charging device you have connected to the car.

I don't live in my car, but I will be driving to Galveston tomorrow which will easily charge my battery.

Unplugging a device in the middle of a charge has no impact at all on the battery life.

No offense but your article has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Any charger used in a car that can work with an iPod will adhere to USB specifications. I use a 10W 2.1 amp iPad charger for my iPad in the car, I use the BMW iPhone adapter for the iPhone and my 6th generation iPod to play it in the car. It will not damage the iPod nor shorten its battery life.

The above is a better one. And nothing in the one from salon supports your argument or disagrees with mine, and it even talks about connecting it and charging it in your car.

As long as you do one full battery cycle per month (and if you read the link I added it will describle a battery charge cycle which does not have to be done at one time) a lithium polymer battery will be fine. Since I don't use any of my devices in my car all the time they all get charge cycles since a lithium polymer battery needs exercise.

But charging it in the car, or disconnecting before it is fully charged, will have no impact on the battery life.

You already posted that link.

You joined today and you are trying to tell me what is appropriate?

What isn't appropriate is posting incorrect information. You posted incorrect information and I corrected it so no one coming here would accept it. The OP already marked my answer as solving his problem so I am assuming they do have an auxiliary input on the stereo system in their car. The OP already guessed correctly that his 6th Gen Nano did not have Bluetooth.

And just to let you know, in the field of studies there's a difference between "Theoretically", and "Practically".

Well, i got to admit you're right "Theoretically" along with the website given. (thanks that acknowledged me)

Gotta tell you here bro, my last 2 apple devices, both of their battery "practically" died due to unplugging before fully charged.

And "Theoretically" and "Practically" unplugging before fully charging will not do any damage whatsoever to any device (not just Apple) that uses a Lithium battery. Period. I've had lots of devices with such batteries and there were numberous times that I did not have time to charge them fully and had to disconnect them. If this would harm the device the manufacturer would be required to post such a warning and the link I sent you would mention it.

Define "long long time ago".
