I have set up my Yahoo! account to be used as default mail account on iMac. I am receiving messages, but cannot send them. All settings appear to be right. What can I do?

What settings are you using?
Is Yahoo mail being accessed via a browser or with the Mail application?
The problems I am having are when I use Yahoo! with the iMac mail application. Yahoo works fine on the browser.
The outgoing settings I am using are:
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): yahoo.co.uk (Offline)
Description: yahoo.co.uk
Server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use default ports (25, 465, 587)
Use SSL
Authentication: Password
User Name: ********@yahoo.co.uk
Password: *************
Of note:
I cannot stop it from saying Offline after the outgoing mail server.
I have used the same settings on my ipad and iphone and that works fine.

If you're using Mail then you would need to use your ISP's settings, not the Yahoo server's I believe. Your mail is being sent from your computer > modem > your ISP server; from there it would go to the Yahoo server.
Those settings appear to be correct. Take the steps suggested in the article linked below.
