iphone events not syncing with ical

my iPhone 4 calendar events are not syncing with ical on my Macbook Air. I am using icloud and all the settings are correct. ical will sync with the device but not sure why it doesn't dot it the other way. very annoying.

my software has been updated on both the computer and device. help!!
