I downloaded "Degrees" from the Apple App Store, a weather application that was free. It doesn't work and I cannot uninstall it.

When I am asked for my password and I input it, the place where I put my password jumps around and a download bar appears saying it is deleting Degrees. The download bar goes on forever and freezes my computer. I do not think I should have to pay Applecare to help with a program that is in their store that doesn't work. Can someone help me please?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Well that seems a bit odd.

Can you try to do a safe-boot and delete this in safe-mode?

I started my IMac in Safe Mode as you instructed. The same thing happens.

I took a look, what an unorthodox app. It does not show up in the dock when ran, nor in menu bar, etc. I had to kill the process using Activity Monitor else I would not be able to send it to the trash.

Can you create a new TEST ACCOUNT, and try to delete it from there?

When I tried to set up TEST account - to Unlock my User Groups Preferences, I have to input my Apple ID. When I input it, the box just shakes and won't accept my password. I cancelled this password and registered a new one in case my password was somehow corrupted, but it still doesn't work. What is going on with this thing??

Hmmm. I would expect this to happen if....

Password is wrong.
User name is wrong.
Account does not have admin privileges.
Other odds & ends....

I guess it's other odds & ends then from what I can see.

I'm curious, what if you try to delete another app, do we run into the same thing?

I am possitive it is "Odds and Ends" too. My user name and password works for everything else. I will try to delete another program, but I am not sure what to delete. Can you give me the name of a useless program that may be on my computer?

It really doesn't matter too much. If it is an App Store app that you have paid for, your terms of usage allow for you to download it again free. And if that bothers you, try any free app you have taken from App Store.
