I have new ipad4. Have had iPhone 4S over a year. Now on iPad if iMessage is on, I can"t mText most of my contacts as they do not have iMessage or an Apple product. I tried turning it off. But when I go to messaging I am forced to turn iMessage back on. So what, you can never text anybody without Ana apple product again, using iPad? This is so frustrating. Can anybody hello?

"Regular" texting is done through a phone's connection, or if there is no such connection (which is the case for an ipad, since it's not an iphone), then iMessage takes over and can send text via wifi to other devices that support iMessage - which means Apple devices.
