24 Cycles already in a month!!(13 in MBP mid 2012's) mAh already at 5591... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok hi im having problems with my MBP!!!

soooo apple says macbooks go on for 7 hours..so that means at 100% you have 7 hours. I am on 55% currently, not charging or anything, no applications running except safari, my battery conditions are normal apparently but the 55% im on says i only have 4 hours remaning. everytime i charge it to 100% i stop charging at it automatically goes down to 99%...

my mAH is already at 5591.... i have had this macbook for 1 month and 4 days exactly to this day.

I have had 24 cycles already.. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME / TELL ME WHATS GOING ON 😟

apple chat is no help at all! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE SEEN!

Estimates are just that ... based on what you were doing 2 minutes ago and remaining %, it recalculates. Shut down Safari, and the % changes. Start NetFlix streaming, estimate will be different in 2 minutes.

As to 24 cycles ... I keeo mine plugged in when near an outlet, and run it on battery down to 40% once a month. I have 35 ccyles at 18 months.

is it bad that i have had 24 cycles already....??

is it based on how much you use your laptop? how do i reduce cycles...

and should i always keep my laptop charged but run it down like you once a month?

You can keep it plugged in. It will not overcharge. But you need to exercise the LitiumIons at least once a month.

two charges from 50% to 100% make 1 cycle. One charge from 40% to 100% added to a charge from 60% to 100% is one cycle.

New MBP batteries have a life of 1000 cycles, then they *can* drop quickly.

"Alot" means "when near a plug" or "when you see the % drop below 90%?

Leave it plugged in. Each re-charge from 90% to 100% is 1/10th of a cycle. If you leave it plugged in, it will slowly discharge over about 4-5 days from 100% to 95% then recharge the battery, minimizing cycles.
