Old External iSight Camera

Hi I just got an iMac G4 1Ghz & and external iSight

(These are my first Apple bits of kit apart from the iPod Classic so I am a bit new to Apples and hhow they work)

When I plug in the camera I get a window from iChat asking for a .Mac account or AIM account, I don't have either, can I use the camera anyway I wanted to take a few videos for use on YouTube of the new iMac and so on

Can/How can I do this?

Do I need more software?

Thanks in advance

See the user guide info that came with your Mac or click this link for help with OSX 10.4 (Tiger) You may want to save or print a copy for reference until you become more familiar with you "new" Mac.

For more detailed help on your OS X version, search or post specific questions here::

(1) iMovie (it may have come with your Mac) and several other apps can record video with iSight. Some others are listed here:

(2) You can add any software you need that did not come with your Mac. Be certain it is compatible with your PPC (G4) Mac. Software for iNtel Macs will NOT run on your PPC Mac.

(3) Your iSight is old. You can test its functionality using the suggestions here:

http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage4.html

(4) For more detailed info about iSight, see iSight support: http://www.apple.com/support/isight/

Of course, if you have other iSight questions, you can search or post here in the iSight forum.
