Question

software update can't connect connect to the update server

Internet connect is okay, so what shall I do next to troubleshoot .. . attempting to install update of Snow Leopard 10.6.8 from my current 10.6.3 and did the download and install, yet when I restart laptop, software did not update and I get the error message :

" software update can't connect to the update server " . . .

MacBook Pro, 10.6.3 update to 10.6.8

So, is it still at 10.6.3 then?

First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot.

Get it directly & try applying it...
