shaking mov

Hello,

I have converted some .mp4 files (form a samsung camcorder) to .mov using iMovie.

Now .mov videos are trembling/shaking when converted in any video file format using iMovie.

.mov video files are perfectly played by iMovie but When they are converted and played by Quicktime they are trembling again.

The situation is Mac and OS X independent, i've tried to play .mov files on another Mac with another OS X (10.8.2) the problem keep the same : videos are trembling.

Perhaps, some video specialists have an idea upon the problem i met.

Thanks for your answers.

can you elaborate this …

why manually conversion, not the intended iM import routine?

what camcorder (model)?

which converter tool?

what conversion settings?

there's some exotic effect, called field order swap, which happens when interlaced sources are converted incorrect.- could be avoided/repaired.-

Files were converted in .mov when my son drag all .mp4 files from the camcorder to iMovie. I don't realy know which kind of action(s) he did, but the result is : .mov files appeared on the iMac and no more .mp4 files on the camcorder.

The camcorder is a Samsung HMX-H200P.

When i try to convert shaking .mov files to .mp4 file format, i use iMovie Film import and iMovie film export (Cmd-E)

About settings, i've tried for 5 hours basics settings and numerous personalized settings but the resulting movie is always shaking.

according to my usual source

your device is a normal AVCHD recorder, no mp4.

connect your device or insert the SDcard into a card reader and choose 'Import from Camera'.

.... manual conversions go wrong in 90% 😉

Sorry, i have'nt been clear enough :

From now .mp4 files present on the camcorder import correcty on iMovie.

The problem is with some files converted by my son a few weeks ago. These files are in .mov format (shaking) and we don't have the correct and original .mp4 files.

I just need to correct these files in mp4 format without this shaking problem.

The camcorder produces mp4 (H.264) files on its hard disk.

Also, the Samsung camera is not on the iMovie Supported Camera List

It's not the problem, it works great ! This camcorder procuces mp4 compatible with iMovie.

The Apple Database is not always up to date.

I have yet import mp4 from the samsung and export these files with iMovie : no problem.

If you read my previous post you'll see that my problem is with some files converted accidentally to iMovie in .mov and that are shaking.
