Set up new Airport Express as extender incorrectly. How do I start over?

Accidentally plugged the cat-6 cable from switch to LAN port (not WAN port as I should have) and then tried to set it up with Airport Utility. It did not work correctly. I have corrected it by plugging in to WAN port. Now - Airport Utilility shows Internet as 'Disconnected' (when it's not) when Express is green and then when Internet shows as connected, the new Express shows with a message 1 (cannot find network) and I can't get into it from Utility on Mac without a password. I never set one. Is there a way I can just start over?

Base router is an Airport Extreme connected to by DLS Modem.

You can "start over" by performing a "factory default" reset on both AirPorts, and then, use the AirPort Utility to configure them for an extended network.
