FTP uses port 22?

I have an iMac, iOSX Lion X 10.7.5.

For some reason I can no longer upoad files to my website because the ftp-protocol on my iMac uses port 22 instead of port 21. The hosting company does not allow acces to port 22 and as a result I can no longer use my iMac to upload files using an ftp-client. Currently I am using the client that is incorporated in Photoshop Bridge (CS5).

Does anybody know how I can force ftp to use port 21 (which should be the default port anyway)..?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

What program/system are you using to connect to the FTP server you are trying to Upload to.

When typing in a Web address and or remote server address you can specify the port to use by including the : (colon) and the port number.

Like if I'm at work and I wanted to connect to my home system and or the FTP server that runs on my home system I would type in the Internet IP address of my router followed by the port number I want to connect through.

So for the Windows Remote Desktop system ( I use a different port then the standard) I'd type in XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:Port#

For the FTP server it would be that address with the :21

This tells my router which port and which system, computer, I am trying to connect to and what protocol to use.
