what version of office works with 10.5.8

I have a slightly used Mac that never had office the newest version won't install does anybody know what version I would need and where I could get it?

Office 2004 if it is a PPC Mac.

Office 2008 onwards for an Intel mac.

Office 2008 runs on PowerPC G4 and G5 Macs which have a 500MHz or faster CPU. Office 2011 is Intel-only.

have a look at Libre Office for Power PC, its freeware and every bit as good as MSO
