DVD keeps ejecting

I have had it with this iMac, it keeps ejecting DVD's. I have tried just about everything that I can find on the internet to do. It seems that this is a common issue with iMac's yet I do not see what Apple is doing to correct thie issue other than charge me $468 to replace the DVD drive. If I ever questioned whether it was a good idea to spen $3000 on a computer I can assure you that I now know that I made a huge mistake. I have, after only 2 years of owning it had to replace my HD, screen and now my DVD drive. This is a quality product with a company that supports it customers? Never again Apple, NEVER AGAIN!

I have tried about 5 different brands of DVD's, I tried store bought DVD's and blank ones. When I insert the DVD, after about 30 seconds it ejects. I have like 4 DVD's ready to burn on the HD, taking up about 600G, and I can't burn them, I'm going to have to get an external drive I guess. I triend a few different "hold these keys on start up" type things, I used the USB mouse and held the button durring start up, I tried a DVD cleaner. All with no luck.

What else do you recomend for me to do?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 12G's RAM

Buy an External DVD drive that connect by USB port. Any make or model will work on your Mac. It will also be a Tray Load type drive so no more of the failed to eject problems, if you ever had those.

You can buy one for around $30. I use the Asus brand on both Mac and PC. Works great.

Yes most people are finding out just what they paid for, Not Much.
