images not loading, safari is being very slow.

Since yesterday all images on every website I visit aren't loading and generally Safari is very slow, I have force quited multiple times as well as restarting my macbookpro. I was considering deleting Safari and re-installing it however i'm not sure where I can re-install it from after deleting as it doesn't appear in App Store or online anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks, Anna.

Additional Info: my mac is only about 1 year old, I do have chrome but i find it a lot slower than Safari (until recently).

Try these :

1. Empty Cache (from the Safari menu)

2. from the same menu, click Reset Safari.. and check "Remove all webpage preview images"

See if either or both of those help.

No need to delete Safari.

Safari 6?

Enable Develop menu

Safari > Preferences > Advanced

Check mark in the box for " Enable Develop menu".

Click "Develop" menu in the Safari menu bar.

1. Click "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

2. If there is a checkmark next to "Disable Images" in the same dropdown, click on it remove it.

I don't have Safari 6, I have Safari 5.1.7, how do I download Safari 6?

I too have Safari 5.1.7 - so it would be worth trying out the suggestions I made immediately below your original post.
